Mike Dwyer - Quackers

20 E Main St, Mesa

Quackers is the first sculpture of a child that artist Mike Dwyer attempted.  His experience with wildlife subjects served him well as he brought this representation of his own son, Nathan, to life.  Nathan was two years old when Dwyer began this process, and he used Nathan’s experience feeding ducks to give both a humorous and heart-felt feel to this piece.  Children will love the size and the playfulness of Quackers.

Dwyer was raised in Scottsdale, AZ, graduated from Fort Hays State University, KS, and now lives in Loveland, CO, where he continues to work in bronze in both life-size and smaller scales.  Subjects include otters, quail and dogs.  Quakers is one of Dwyer’s most famous sculptures.

One of the many artworks in the Downtown Mesa Art Walk, Quackers is a great compliment to many of the other bronze pieces on Main St.
