Jayemaich - Elapsing Synergy of the Bleached Moon Room
3440 N 16th St, Phoenix
This dramatic, gray-scale mural will take you back to print ads from the 1960s. A beautiful woman, far too made up for what appears to be a space helmet, set off by a non-descript patterned background. I keep expecting the subject to speak, telling me that, “Now Jell-O has the just-picked taste of fresh fruit,” “Move up to Schlitz,” or “Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch!” - some sort of ad pitch from long ago days.
Realistic muralist Jayemaich makes this large scale piece seem almost like a photograph. Driving north on 16th street, one is hard-pressed not to stare at Elapsing Synergy of the Bleached Moon Room. There is a parking lot that you can pull into on the west side of the street where you can safely view this wonderful addition to the Phoenix streets.
Jayemaich is currently based in Florida, but his work can be seen all over the country, including California, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Check out more of his work here.
